The 2001 Pepsi 400: In NASCAR’s first return to Daytona after the death of his father, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. pulled out a thrilling victory. It was hard to not be a Dale Jr. fan after this night.

This will be the first in a series of video posts about my favorite NASCAR moments… It was truly the best of times and the worst of times: Talladega, 2006. At my favorite track in Nascar, my favorite driver and my least favorite driver were collected in a single, last lap wreck by Brian Vickers. This video is especially notable this week, because Vickers was angry Saturday in New Hampshire when a teammate caused him to wreck. (In the video above, Vickers, driving the #25, was a teammate of Jimmie Johnson, driving the #48.)
